Oops-- I erred. I forgot to renew the domain name dotandspeck.com and some idiots in Cyprus poached it to sell fake pharmaceuticals. Enjoy it, dumbasses.

Couch burritos. 5/10

Everybody thinks their dog is the cutest dog in the world. Except in my case, it's true.

Roadtrip buddies riding shotgun. I-5, first morning light.

Freshly-washed gollum

Niece and goggies. The triumvirate of cuteness. 4/10.

With faces like that, you'd think we were on our way to the vet.

Study buddy.

Old house that lacked actual closets but had CUTE PUPPEHS.

Speck. I am your father.
Here's a recent picture of Speck's dad:

I got the doggies four years ago (Feb 2006) from The Milo Foundation. Dot was named "Twinkle" at the time, and Speck-- who was then three months old-- was named "Gemini."
The little rascal who had fathered all six of Twinkle/Dot's puppies was also there. His name was Spotty. He was some sort of Chihuahua/terrier mix, they thought. (Which would make Speck, to anyone's best guess, 3/4 Chihuahua and 1/4 Terrier of some sort.)
The lady who adopted Spotty renamed him to Biggie. She found and contacted me a few years ago, but I lost touch with her. She found me again recently, which made me very happy! She owns a pet store in the SF Mission District called Hazel & Gertie's.
I'm going to drop by there soon so that Speck can see his dad. But they may not remember each other, it was 28 people years ago. I wonder if Dottie will feel awkward when she sees the guy who knocked her up.
But look at this guy. Quite the charmer.

Don't let the cute expression fool you...
she and Speck will fight like CRAZY over these dental treat things.
What you can't see in this picture is Speck, whimpering in the corner.
It happens like this, every time: I give them each one. Dot quietly slinks away and hides hers. Then comes back, acts like she didn't get one, and gets in a raging fight with Speck over the one he has.

With other treats, they happily take their own and eat them cheerfully. But with these and with Greenies... WATCH OUT.

Xmas holidays, part 2
These guys basically take a 24/7 power nap.

Especially if there's a sunny spot.

Here's Dot peeking out from her little watchtower behind a piece of foam:

Here they are, enduring the car ride. They're not fans of long car rides; I think it's because they have zero concept of when a trip ends, up until the moment they arrive back and recognize the neighborhood. They have no way of knowing that these circumstances are only temporary.

And finally, here's Speck, checking out the scenery.

Xmas holidays 2008
In which Dot and Speck go visit the family, and fail to understand why they're not the center of attention. They're not used to the competition they had in the form of my ridiculously cute niece.

In this picture, Dot had just been busted eating some unauthorized people food, and she retreated into the travel crate looking very guilty.
